"The Pivot Point"

If
I were to write the world's best story, I would write ... A
story that would keep you on the edge of your seat,
filling
your senses with unparalleled circumstance.
A plot
that twists and turns but remains consistent,
forever
changing the perspective of your existence. A
story that would raise controversy and be scorned by some
with
words that spark fire in hearts and emotions.
Inspired pages filled with hope and encouragement,
faithfully being passed down through the generations. A
story that would have such life-altering significance
that
sacrifices would be made for this treasured work.
People
committed in lifelong pursuit of its mother lode,
some
giving up freedom or even life to protect its worth. A
story that would inspire beautiful buildings to be built
just to
house a copy of it and its message.
People
would gather together to listen, read, and study
this
wonderful and timeless story from age to age. But
I can't write the world's best story. Why not? ... One
obvious reason is that I am certainly not the world's best writer.
The
other reason is that the best story has already been written.
A story
that is as true today as the day it was conceived,
motivating its pursuit with lifelong ambition. The
"pivot point" of the world's best story? ...
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish, but
have
everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the
world
to condemn the world, but that the world might be
saved
through him.
John 3:16,17
