"A Personal Question"

What is the Church?

Is it the stained glass, traditional hymns,
and a symbolic dove?
Or is it a place of sharing family concerns,
weaknesses, and love;
supporting believers in their walk,
receiving the peace sent from above.

The Church should have a solid foundation,
but no walls, locks, or limitation.

What is the Church?

Is it the organ music, a pulpit,
and rows of hardwood pews?
Or is it a celebration of the scriptures,
a model for salvation and God's truths;
overflowing into the communities
sharing the word and the good news!

What is in our hearts?

Is it a lifestyle of looking at the fruit,
not just the rind?
Or sometimes do we bring our own pedestals,
instead of standing on the Lord Divine.
Personal questions like these,
we need to ask of ourselves from time to time.

The Church should have a solid foundation,
but no walls, judgments, or condemnation.

What is OUR Church?

Is it authentic, or just lip service;
meant for the masses, but compromises to please a few?
beautiful churches can fill our senses,
making us comfortable and secure in our pew;
but do we look beyond that to see the real beauty;
I need to ask of me, you need to ask of you.

The Church should have a solid foundation,
a sense of genuine love... sharing... a celebration!

Let's celebrate the good news!

Romans 15:4-6
Everything written before our time was written for our instruction, that
we might derive hope from the lessons of patience and the words of
encouragement in the scriptures.  May God, the source of all patience and
encouragement, enable you to live in perfect harmony with one another
according to the spirit of Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and voice

2 Timothy 3:15-17
Likewise, from your infancy you have known the sacred scriptures, the
source of the wisdom which through faith in Jesus Christ leads to salvation.
All scripture is inspired of God and is useful for teaching - for reproof,
correction, and training in holiness so that the man of God may be fully
